New Delhi. Festive season online sale is going to start in the country amidst lockdown and Coronavirus epidemic. E-commerce sites like Amazon and Flipkart have announced the sale. Amidst all the offers and benefits of these online shopping companies, consumers need to be especially cautious. During the festive season sale, consumers will buy goods at wholesale prices on these e-commerce websites. In such a situation, the government’s new Consumer Protection Act 2019 will provide a lot of strength to the customers.
How will the new law help in festive season sales?
If e-commerce companies provide bad goods to customers, then complaints can be made immediately. According to e-commerce market experts, this year attractive and huge discounts will be given in all categories including fashion, gadgets, household items. Huge discounts will also be available on beauty and other types of products. Therefore, if you want to buy good things at cheap prices, then this is a great opportunity. Also, customers will have to be extra cautious this season.
If e-commerce companies provide bad products to the customers, then a complaint regarding the same can now be made immediately.
Items purchased in the sale will also be returned
The sale under Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale will start from October 16. Two days after this, the sale is also going to start on Amazon. In such a situation, consumers should be aware of the new Consumer Protection Act implemented in the country. For the first time after the implementation of this law in the country, e-commerce companies are going to start a sale on such a large scale. In the Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale, buyers will get offers and discounts on clothes, smartphones, laptops, electronic gadgets etc.
What is Consumer Protection Act?
Consumer Protection Act will now be applicable in online shopping by branded companies. Consumers will have the right to demand refund and complain against these companies even in offers and sales. Consumer Protection Act 2019 has been implemented across the country from 20 July 2020. After the implementation of Consumer Protection Act-2019, consumers have got many rights. Consumer Protection Act 2019 gives the consumer the power to fight even those companies, which was not there in the earlier consumer law. Now customers can register their complaints in the consumer forum under the new law. The forum will take action on their complaints within a month of filing the complaint.
Consumer Protection Act will now be applicable in online shopping by branded companies also.

In the Consumer Act 1986, if there was any problem with the product, then the companies used to delay in replacing it, but this will not happen in the new consumer law. Therefore, if the consumers are cheated by online companies in this festive season, then they should take full advantage of the new Consumer Protection Act brought by the Modi government.
