A delegation reached Sri Akal Takht Sahib today over allegations of drug abuse by non-Amritdhari managers in some Gurdwara Sahibs in Calgary, Canada. While handing over a demand letter to Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh for maintaining courtesy in Gurdwara Sahib.

Talking on this matter, Shamsher Singh Padhari and members of the delegation said that in some Gurdwara Sahibs of Calgary, Canada, non-Amritdhari Sikh servants and managers have been accused of breaking rules and consuming drugs. The people who are looking after the management of Gurdwara Sahibs consume drugs. Whereas if someone asks for action against them, they are threatened with filing a false case against them. On which there is controversy every day. In this matter, some time ago there was a fight outside Gurudwara Sahib and the Sangat was attacked by those people.
Sevadars should be Amritdhari Gursikhs
He said that today we have reached Sri Akal Takht Sahib demanding action against him. He said that as per the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the sevadars and managers of Gurugharas should be Amritdhari Gursikhs so that no such disputes arise. That is why strict instructions should be issued to follow these orders.
The delegation demanded that action be taken against such service workers and managers who deliberately file false cases against those who try to raise their voice. He said that this is a very serious issue and the reputation of Gurdwara Sahibs is being tarnished, that is why the supreme body of Sikhs, Shri Akal Takht Sahib should pay attention to this matter and take a strict decision as soon as possible.
