For the first time in the war that has been going on for the last two and a half years, both the countries have shown some generosity towards each other. Russia and Ukraine have exchanged prisoners of war for the first time. In which both the sides have released 103 people. News agency Interfax said on Saturday that the Russian soldiers who were exchanged were captured in the Kursk region of Russia. The Ukrainian army had captured the area there in its first major intrusion into Russia last month.
It is worth noting that recently PM Narendra Modi visited Ukraine. He met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Earlier, PM Modi visited Moscow and held talks with President Vladimir Putin. Recently, India’s NSA Ajit Doval had a face-to-face conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin has already said that he is ready to accept India’s point in the negotiations to end the war. Ukrainian President Zelensky has also asked India to use its influence to persuade Russia to end the war.
