These prepaid plans will be better for customers who do not need internet. Typically, these customers consist of feature phones or use secondary SIM cards. A media Report According to, Airtel is planning to change its Rs 509 voucher. It will have 84 days validity and will get 900 free SMS with unlimited voice calls. The first 6 GB of data was also included in this plan. Airtel is changing its prepaid plan of Rs 1,999 for long -term validity. In this plan, 3,600 free SMS can be found with unlimited voice calls for 365 days.
It has been reported in this report that after the end of free SMS limit, customers may have to pay Rs 1 per local message and Rs 1.5 per STD message. However, it is not clear whether Airtel will reduce the price of bundled plans with the first data. At the end of last year, TRAI made it mandatory for telecom companies to provide a separate tariff plan for voice calls and SMS by changing rules. TRAI said in the revised telecom consumers protection regulations, “Service provider will have to offer a special tariff voucher for voice calls and SMS, whose validity will not exceed 365 days.”
This will benefit subscribers who do not use data. Along with this, TRAI also allowed telecom companies to provide recharge vouchers of any value. However, these companies will have to issue a recharge coupon of at least Rs 10. The telecom regulator has also taken some measures to deal with the problem of spam calls and messages. TRAI imposed a fine on large telecom companies for failing to curb this problem.
