The country’s leading telecom company Airtel has introduced a new AI based spam detection tool to protect against spam calls and messages. This new technology automatically protects customers from suspected spam and provides real-time protection. This facility of Airtel is available to all customers without any additional cost. This AI based spam detection tool works by checking various conditions like call frequency, duration and sender pattern. It then compares this data with known spam activities to identify potential threats. If any call or message appears suspicious, customers receive real-time alerts.

Apart from spam calls and messages, this tool also protects users from fraudulent links. By scanning incoming SMS for suspicious URLs, Airtel can prevent users from inadvertently clicking on dangerous content. Additionally, the solution can detect issues like frequent IMEI changes, which are often related to fraudulent activity. The company has developed this tool on a dual-layer protection system, in which there are two filters, one at the network level and the other at the IT system level. All calls and SMS pass through this dual-level AI shield. Our solution processes 1.5 billion messages and 2.5 billion calls daily in 2 milliseconds. This is equivalent to managing 1 trillion records on a real-time basis using the power of AI.
