New Delhi. A situation has arisen in the Afghanistan-New Zealand Test match, which has rarely been seen before. The Test match played between these two in India could not start even on the second day. Both teams are ready to play. The weather is also clear, but the poor preparation of the Noida stadium has spoiled the entire match. A worse situation than this has rarely been seen in the history of Test cricket, when it has not rained for two days and despite this the game is not being played due to the ground being wet.
A test match is proposed between Afghanistan and New Zealand from September 9. This match is to be held at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida. Both the teams have already come to Noida for this. But the game is not happening. Actually, it rained here a day before the match started. It kept drizzling at night as well. But on the day (Monday) when the match was to start, it did not rain at all. There were clouds for some time and the sun shone for some time. But due to the wet outfield and poor drainage of the stadium, the first day’s game had to be canceled without even a single ball being bowled.
The player who is most talked about after the team selection, his place in the playing 11 is difficult, how will Rohit Sharma fit him in
An even more embarrassing situation was seen on the second day. On Tuesday, the sun shone from the morning itself and the weather was absolutely ideal for playing. But the preparations of the ground again spoiled the game. The ground around the pitch was so wet that it was not possible to play. Due to this, the lunch break was taken on the second day as well without even a single ball being bowled.
An official of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) had said on Monday, ‘There is a lot of chaos here. We will never come back here again. All the players are unhappy with the facilities here. When we talked to the concerned people, we were assured that all the preparations are good. But this is not the case at all.’
