Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin has canceled New Year fireworks in many cities of the country due to the war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, a UFO has been seen in the sky of Siberia. Spectacular fireworks usually go off over Moscow’s Kremlin and onion-domed St. Basil’s Cathedral to welcome the New Year. The tradition of New Year’s fireworks in Russia was started by Peter the Great, but since Putin invaded Ukraine, fireworks shows in Moscow have been canceled.

This year Red Square will be closed for hours around midnight. Protests have also been canceled in dozens of major cities across Russia’s 11 time zones, including its second-largest city St. Petersburg and the Pacific Ocean capital Vladivostok. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a close ally of Putin, said a survey showed people were against celebrating the New Year with fireworks because of the ongoing war with Ukraine. It has been claimed that war-injured people may be frightened by the noise of fireworks. Additionally, there are fears that Ukraine may ruin the traditional fireworks display.

This happened when a mysterious UFO was seen breaking up in the sky on New Year’s Eve in Siberia. This 5:30 a.m. cosmic fireworks display was reported to Russian police in remote Severobakalsk on Lake Baikal, which holds 20% of the planet’s unfrozen fresh water.
In the dark night the object suddenly flashed with bright light and then broke into many pieces. While making a video of this incident, a bystander asked, “What is this?” Another said, “Wow…this is amazing.” I have never seen anything like this before. This is so beautiful!”

According to experts, this scene looked like Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite coming out of the Earth’s orbit. Such satellites have a self-destruction system and are destroyed by burning up in the atmosphere. But there has been no confirmation from the Russian authorities about this strange scene.
