However, Root is at third place in the list of fastest batsmen to reach this figure. Virat Kohli has the record of scoring the fastest 20 thousand international runs. In this list, legends Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are jointly at second place.
Right-handed batsman Joe Root touched the 20,000-run mark in 458 innings, while Sachin and Brian Lara had to take the same 453 innings. Root scored the sixth double test century of his career. Virat holds the record for scoring the most number of double centuries in Tests among active players. Virat has scored a total of 7 double centuries.
