Gonda: The Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express train accident in Gonda is being investigated from every angle whether it was a conspiracy or a technical fault. The conclusion says that the rail track was not laid properly and it was not working properly. IMR fault was detected on the line and a caution order was issued for limited speed of 30 kmph at around 1:30 pm and it was received by the station master Motiganj at 2:30 pm.

According to the loco pilot’s statement, the speed of the train on the section was around 80 when he felt a sharp vibration and a “rattling sound”. The joint note states that the engineering department should have secured the track until a caution order was received and hence they are responsible for the accident. The note also has a dissent where an official from the section does not agree with the findings.
It is known that there were a total of 22 coaches in the train. Out of these, 19 coaches have derailed. He told that due to the presence of LHB coaches, the loss of life and property has been reduced. The coaches of the train overturned instead of climbing on each other. 2 people have died in the accident and 31 people have been injured. Financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the families of those killed in the train accident. It has been announced to give Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to the minor injured.
