2 days after retirement, Shikhar Dhawan took a big step, which cricket league will he join and play


New Delhi. After showing his prowess in Indian cricket for almost one and a half decade, Team India’s Gabbar i.e. Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international cricket. After retiring, the former Indian opener joined Legends League Cricket (LLC) on Monday. This 38-year-old player had announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. He can now play in other T20 leagues apart from the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Dhawan said in a statement, “I am still fully fit to play. Although I am satisfied with my decision, cricket is and will remain an important part of my life. I am looking forward to reuniting with my cricket friends and entertaining my fans as we all create new memories together.”

This brilliant batsman made his international debut in 2010 in an ODI against Australia. While making his Test debut in 2013, he created a record by scoring 187 runs against Australia in Mohali. Dhawan represented India in 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20s and scored a total of 12,286 runs in international cricket. The Legends League cricket tournament will be played in September. In 2022, Shikhar Dhawan played his last international match for India.

History created in Indian Premier League

Shikhar Dhawan created history by scoring centuries in two consecutive matches in the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League. He became the first batsman to do so in this tournament. Before this, no one had done the feat of scoring centuries in two consecutive matches. The record of hitting the most fours in IPL is still registered in the name of this great batsman.
